Journal ArticleDOI
Trypanocidal diarylheptanoids from Aframomum letestuianum.
Pierre Kamnaing,Apollinaire Tsopmo,Eric A. Tanifum,Marguerite H. K. Tchuendem,Pierre Tane,Johnson F. Ayafor,Olov Sterner,Donna Rattendi,Maurice M. Iwu,Brian G. Schuster,Bacchi Cyrus +10 more
TL;DR: Three new diarylheptanoids were isolated from Aframomum letestuianum and tested for growth inhibitory activity in vitro versus bloodstream forms of African trypanosomes and IC(50) values in the range of 1-3 microg/mL were found for compounds 3 and 5.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diarylheptanoids from Myrica arborea.
Mathieu Tene,Hyppolite Kamdem Wabo,Pierre Kamnaing,Apollinaire Tsopmo,Pierre Tane,Johnson F. Ayafor,Olov Sterner +6 more
TL;DR: Investigations of the stem and root bark of Myrica arborea (Myricaceae) have yielded two novel diarylheptanoids, myricarborin and 11-O-beta-D-xylopyranosylmyricanol along with the known myricanol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial diterpenoids and triterpenoids from the stem bark of Croton macrostachys
TL;DR: The isolation of these active antibacterial and antifungal principles supports the use of C. macrostachys in traditional medicine for the treatment of microbial infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Chromone glycosides from Schumanniophyton magnificum
TL;DR: Two new chromone glycosides, schumanniofiosides A and B have been isolated from the root bark of Schumanniophyton magnificum and their structures shown to be 2-methyl-5,7-dihydroxychromone 5-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1----2)-apiofuranoside, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Partially-acetylated dodecanyl tri- and tetra-rhamnoside derivatives from Cleistopholis glauca (Annonaceae)
Pierre Tane,Johnson F. Ayafor,B.Lucas Sondengam,Catherine Lavaud,Georges Massiot,Joseph D. Connolly,David S. Rycroft,Neill Woods +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the trisaccharide 1-O -dodecanyl α-L-2,3,4-triacetylrhamnopyranosyl-(1→3)-α-L -4-acetyl rhamno-pyranosy-( 1→4)-α -L-rhamnoside (6) was also isolated from the bark of Cleistopholis glauca.
