Motives for Inter-Household Transfers in South Africa
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the patterns of inter-household transfers using a national level survey data from South Africa and found significant evidence of crowding out of private transfers in the presence of government pension and other government transfers, particularly for African households.

TL;DR: This article study the efficacy of horizontal versus vertical social learning processes in a public goods game and find that groups that engage in peer communication achieve much lower levels of contribution to the public good than do groups that receive advice.
