Fractional vector calculus and fractional Maxwell’s equations

In this paper, zero backscattering by chiral objects when illuminated by an electromagnetic plane wave is investigated. For this a bi-isotropic chiral sphere coated with chiral metamaterial embedded in free space is considered. Self-duality cases satisfy for zero backscattering. Conditions on permittivity and permeability for zero backscattering are presented in this paper. Results have been discussed for different configurations of bi-isotropic sphere as dielectric-dielectric, dielectric-chiral, chiral dielectric and single dielectric cases. Specific results for chirality parameter have been discussed for these configurations.

Layered Chiral Spheres with Zero Backscattering

Theoretical analysis of the electromagnetic wave scattering of cylindrical waves from chiral coated nihility cylinder placed in isotropic plasma medium is carried out. The scattering problem is analytically formulated in the frame work of extended classical scattering theory. The cylindrical vector wave functions (CVWFs) are used for the expansion and representation of fields. The appropriate boundary conditions are applied on each interface i.e., Plasma/Chiral and chiral/nihility to get the unknown scattering coefficients. It is concluded that the scattering amplitude can be controlled and tuned by the plasma parameters (plasma density and effective collision frequency) as well as the chirality. Moreover, the present work has practical applications in target protection and microwave controlling devices. Under the special conditions, present work found good agreement with already published literature.

Graphene-Based Plasmonic Waveguides: a Mini Review

Electromagnetic scattering by a circular cylinder, characterized by DB, DBand DBboundary conditions, is studied. These boundary conditions deal with the normal components of electromagnetic flux densities and their normal deriva- tives. Electromagnetic behavior of a circular cylinder satisfying a pair of conditions among these different sets of boundary conditions is first investigated in free space. The response of cylinder placed in free space is discussed for both TM -a nd TE-polarized incident fields, with respect to axis of the cylinder. The results are then extended by placing these boundaries in chiral and chiral nihility mediums. Numerical results for these boundaries placed in free space, chiral and chiral nihility mediums are given and compared with those of DB cylinder placed in similar media.
