Journal ArticleDOI
Low-Dose Mycophenolate Mofetil for Treatment of Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders: A Prospective Multicenter Study in South China.
Qiao Huang,Jingqi Wang,Yifan Zhou,Hui Yang,Zhanhang Wang,Zhenwen Yan,Youming Long,Jia Yin,Huiyu Feng,Caixia Li,Zhengqi Lu,Xueqiang Hu,Wei Qiu +12 more
TL;DR: Low-dose MMF reduced clinical relapse and disability in NMOSD patients in South China, however, some patients still suffered from adverse events at this dosage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pregnancy in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder: A multicenter study from South China
Yanlu Huang,Yuge Wang,Yifan Zhou,Qiao Huang,Xiaobo Sun,Chen Chen,Ling Fang,Youming Long,Hui Yang,Honghao Wang,Caixia Li,Zhengqi Lu,Xueqiang Hu,Allan G. Kermode,Wei Qiu +14 more
TL;DR: A significant association between pregnancy and NMOSD in the Chinese population is shown, and negative anti-aquaporin-4 IgG, concomitance with autoimmune diseases/antibodies, and no treatment in remission were risk factors of recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytokine and Chemokine Profiles in Patients with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder.
Yuge Wang,Yifan Zhou,Xiaobo Sun,Tingting Lu,Lei Wei,Ling Fang,Chen Chen,Qiao Huang,Xueqiang Hu,Zhengqi Lu,Lisheng Peng,Wei Qiu +11 more
TL;DR: In addition to IL-6 and IL-17A, IL-16 and CCL19 act as proinflammatory cytokines/chemokines, while IL-19 plays a protective role in NMOSD pathogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Azathioprine therapy in a case of pediatric multiple sclerosis that was seropositive for MOG-IgG
Yifan Zhou,Qiao Huang,Tingting Lu,Xiaobo Sun,Ling Fang,Zhengqi Lu,Xueqiang Hu,Allan G. Kermode,Wei Qiu +8 more
TL;DR: A 10-year-old boy with multiple sclerosis who was seropositive for antibodies against myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-IgG was treated with azathioprine plus oral methylprednisolone, and showed clinical and magnetic resonance imaging stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Male patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders: different clinical characteristics and worse steroid treatment response
TL;DR: Male patients with NMOSD had more frequent optic neuritis attacks and less frequent myelitis than female patients and no-remission rates of high-dose intravenous steroid therapy were higher in male patients than in female patients.
