A hybrid model to determine mechanical properties of soft polymers by nanoindentation
TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid method of combining the Hertz model and the Johnson-Kendall-Roberts (JKR) model is presented, to analytically explain the descending phenomenon of the modulus estimation by considering adhesive effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surrogate model based iterative ensemble smoother for subsurface flow data assimilation
TL;DR: An algorithm for implementing an iterative ensemble smoother (ES) using the surrogate model is developed and results show that satisfactory data assimilation results can be obtained by using surrogate models that have sufficient accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probabilistic collocation method for strongly nonlinear problems: 1. Transform by location
Qinzhuo Liao,Dongxiao Zhang +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a location-based transformed probabilistic collocation method (xTPCM) is proposed, where the model response is represented by an alternative variable, i.e., the location of a particular response value which is relatively linear to the random parameter.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress dependent gas-water relative permeability in gas hydrates: A theoretical model
TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical relative permeability model for gas-water flow through hydrate-bearing sediments is proposed, in which the change in pore structure (e.g., pore radius) of HBS due to effective stress is taken into account.
