3D aerodynamic admittances of streamlined box bridge decks
TL;DR: In this article, an empirical formula for determining the 3D aerodynamic admittance of a streamlined bridge deck is proposed based on the extensive results of the experimental data and analysis, and the correlation between the fluctuating pressures on a crosswise section and the coherences of the buffeting force along the spanwise direction of the models are investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Monitoring Structural Performance of a Supertall Building during 14 Tropical Cyclones
Xiao Li,Qiusheng Li +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, field measurements of wind effects on a 420-meter-high supertall building in Hong Kong were analyzed during the passages of 14 tropical cyclone (TC) events, from 2008 to 2016, with a total...
Journal ArticleDOI
A finite segment model for shear lag analysis
TL;DR: In this article, a finite segment model is developed to calculate the shear lag effects for box girders with varying depth, where multiple longitudinal displacement functions are used to derive stiffness matrix and the nodal force vector of the segment element.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vibratory characteristics of multi-step beams with an arbitrary number of cracks and concentrated masses
TL;DR: In this article, a new exact approach for free vibration analysis of a multi-step beam with an arbitrary number of cracks and concentrated masses is proposed, where a model of massless rotational spring is adopted to describe the local flexibility induced by cracks in the beam.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between characteristics of gravity and magnetic anomalies and the earthquakes in the Longmenshan range and adjacent areas
TL;DR: In this paper, a large negative magnetic anomaly occurs around Qingchuan-Wenchuan-Guanxian and Guanxian-Beichuan segments in the northern Longmenshan fault zone, which corresponds to the location of the horizontal gradient belt of the residual gravity anomaly.
