Journal ArticleDOI

Search for. mu. /sup +/. -->. e/sup +/. gamma

TL;DR: In this article, a kinematically complete search for the muon decay was performed using a magnetic spectrometer outfitted with proportional chambers to measure the positron momentum vector and a large segmented NaI(Tl) array to determine the gamma-ray energy and impact point.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the detection of 50 MeV γ-rays with a large modularized NaI(Tl) detector

TL;DR: An array of 45 NaI(Tl) crystals modules, each in 20 in. in length and hexagonal in cross section with six 3 in. sides, has been operated as a detector of 50 MeV γ-rays in a search for the decay μ + →e + γ as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The use of an active coded aperture for improved directional measurements in high energy γ-ray astronomy

TL;DR: The coded aperture, a refinement of the scatter-hole camera, offers a method for the improved measurement of γ-ray direction in γray astronomy as mentioned in this paper, and two prototype coded apertures have been built and tested.
