Stephens,Christian Stoeckl,Max Tabak,Richard Town,L. D. Van Woerkom,R. L. Weber,Scott Wilks,B. Zhang +34 more
TL;DR: The Fast Ignition Program in the United States has enjoyed increased funding in various forms from the Office of Fusion Energy Sciences of the Department of Energy as discussed by the authors, which includes experiments on large laser facilities at various world-wide locations, and benefits enormously from collaborations with many international scientists.
Journal ArticleDOI
A dual-channel, curved-crystal spectrograph for petawatt laser, x-ray backlighter source studies.
Wolfgang Theobald,Christian Stoeckl,Paul A. Jaanimagi,P. M. Nilson,M. Storm,D. D. Meyerhofer,T. C. Sangster,D. S. Hey,A. J. Mackinnon,Hae-Sim Park,P. K. Patel,Ronnie Shepherd,R. A. Snavely,M. H. Proceedings ArticleDOI
Traveling wave pumping of ultra-short pulse x-ray lasers
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the requirements for an example x-ray laser (XRL) in Carbon lasing on the 2p - 1s transition at 45 angstrom, and show that pump energy can be delivered in a time short when compared to the auger rate.
