Intravesical Mycobacterium brumae triggers both local and systemic immunotherapeutic responses against bladder cancer in mice.
Estela Noguera-Ortega,R.M. Rabanal,Elisabet Gómez-Mora,Cecilia Cabrera,Marina Luquin,Esther Julián +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that intravesical mycobacterial treatment triggers local and systemic immune responses, which are most significant when OO-in-water emulsified myCobacteria are used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mycolicibacterium brumae Is a Safe and Non-Toxic Immunomodulatory Agent for Cancer Treatment
Marc Bach-Griera,Víctor Campo-Pérez,Sandra Barbosa,Sara Traserra,Sandra Guallar-Garrido,Laura Moya-Andérico,Paula Herrero-Abadía,Marina Luquin,R.M. Rabanal,Eduard Torrents,Esther Julián +10 more
TL;DR: M. brumae constitutes a safe therapeutic biological agent, overcoming the safety and toxicity disadvantages presented by BCG in both mice and G. mellonella animal models.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diabetic neuropathy: Electrophysiological and morphological study of peripheral nerve degeneration and regeneration in transgenic mice that express IFNβ in β cells
Anna Serafín,J. Molin,Merce Márquez,Ester Blasco,Enric Vidal,Laia Foradada,Sònia Añor,R.M. Rabanal,Dolors Fondevila,Fatima Bosch,Martí Pumarola +10 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that RIP/IFNβ transgenic mice are a good model for diabetic neuropathy and when these animals are submitted to nerve crush they have substantial deficits in nerve regrowth, similar to that observed in diabetic patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protothecal pyogranulomatous meningoencephalitis in a dog without evidence of disseminated infection
Mercedes Márquez,Sergio Ródenas,J. Molin,R.M. Rabanal,D. Fondevila,Sònia Añor,Martí Pumarola +6 more
TL;DR: Dogs with a two-year-old, male boxer with a seven-day history of anorexia, frequent coughing, mild depression and generalised pain that did not respond to NSAID treatment are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bacterial pseudomycetoma in dwarf hamster, Phodopus sungorus
TL;DR: A case of a dwarf hamster with two progressively growing nodules on the right fore limb is described, which is the first reported case of bacterial pseudomycetoma in a Dwarf hamster.
