Automatic synthesis of optimal invariant assertions: Mathematical foundations

Patrick Cousot, +1 more
- 01 Aug 1977 -
TL;DR: This work establishes the lattice theoric foundations upon which the synthesis of invariant assertions is based and shows that an approximation of the optimal solution to a fixpoint system of equations can be obtained by strengthening the term of a chaotic iteration sequence.

The ASTR ´ EE Analyzer

TL;DR: ASTR´ EE is an abstract interpretation-based static program analyzer aiming at proving automatically the absence of run time errors in programs written in the C programming language.
Book ChapterDOI

Basic Concepts of Abstract Interpretation

TL;DR: A brief introduction to the theory of Abstract Interpretation, examplified by constructing a hierarchy of partial traces, reflexive transitive closure, reachable states and intervals abstract semantics of transition systems.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Varieties of Static Analyzers: A Comparison with ASTREE

TL;DR: The characteristic properties of ASTREE, an automatic static analyzer for proving the absence of runtime errors in safety-critical real-time synchronous control command C programs, are discussed and compared with a variety of other program analysis tools.
