A versatile smoothed particle hydrodynamics code for graphic cards

TL;DR: The second release of the now open source smoothed particle hydrodynamics code miluphcuda is presented, which handles one to three dimensional problems and includes modules to solve the equations for viscid and inviscid hydrodynamic flows, the equations of continuum mechanics using SPH, and self-gravity with a Barnes-Hut tree.
Journal ArticleDOI

The PDS 110 observing campaign – photometric and spectroscopic observations reveal eclipses are aperiodic

Hugh P. Osborn, +79 more
TL;DR: In this article, a ground-based observing campaign designed to measure the star both photometrically and spectroscopically during the time of predicted eclipse in 2017 September was presented. Despite high-quality photometry, the predicted eclipse did not occur, although coherent structure is present suggesting variable amounts of stellar flux or dust obscuration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Orbital evolution of the μ and ν dust ring particles of Uranus

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a numerical analysis of the orbital evolution of a sample of particles with radii of 1, 3, 5, and 10 μm under the influence of these perturbations, combined with the gravitational interaction with the close satellites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asteroid triple-system 2001 SN263: surface characteristics and dynamical environment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assume the irregular shape of the 2001 SN263 system components as uniform density polyhedra and computationally investigate the gravitational field generated by these bodies, taking into account the rotational speed, they analyze their topographic features through the quantities geometric altitude, tilt, geopotential, slope, surface accelerations, among others.
