Intestinal inflammation in mice deficient in Tir8, an inhibitory member of the IL-1 receptor family
Cecilia Garlanda,Federica Riva,Nadia Polentarutti,Chiara Buracchi,Marina Sironi,Maida De Bortoli,Marta Muzio,Raffaella Bergottini,Eugenio Scanziani,Annunciata Vecchi,Emilio Hirsch,Alberto Mantovani +11 more
TL;DR: TIR8 represents a negative pathway of regulation of the IL-1 receptor/TLR system, expressed in epithelial cells and dendritic cells, crucial for tuning inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract.
Journal ArticleDOI
Natural aging, expression of fibrosis-related genes and collagen deposition in rat lung
Carmen Calabresi,Beatrice Arosio,Lorenza Galimberti,Eugenio Scanziani,Raffaella Bergottini,Giorgio Annoni,Carlo Vergani +6 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that, during natural aging, collagen accumulation in the lung and its progressive fibrosis are mainly due to a reduced proteolytic activity of MMP, in which TIMP-1 and -2 seem to be the major regulating factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of the novel camptothecin Gimatecan against orthotopic and metastatic human tumor xenograft models
TL;DR: Gimatecan was highly effective in delaying disease manifestations in all tumor systems investigated and showed a therapeutic benefit in terms of survival increase, and the good oral availability allowed a prolonged daily treatment regimen, which seems the most promising to exploit the therapeutic potential of the drug.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cilia-associated respiratory (CAR) bacillus infection in adult red deer, chamois, and roe deer.
TL;DR: The present study demonstrated the occurrence of the organism in wild red deer, chamois, and roe deer from the Val Fontana in northern Italy, with a statistically significant negative correlation between CAR bacilli infection and the presence of lymphoid follicles.
Cilia-associated Respiratory (CAR) Bacillus Infection in Adult Red
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrated the occurrence of the organism in wild red deer (Cervus elaphus hippelaphus), chamois, and roe deer (Capreolus capreolaus) from the Val Fontana in northern Italy, with a statistically significant negative correlation between CAR bacilli infection and the presence of lymphoid follicles.
