Systematic Aortic and Pelvic Lymphadenectomy Versus Resection of Bulky Nodes Only in Optimally Debulked Advanced Ovarian Cancer: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Pierluigi Benedetti Panici,Angelo Maggioni,Neville F. Hacker,Fabio Landoni,Sven Ackermann,Elio Campagnutta,Karl Tamussino,Raimund Winter,Antonio Pellegrino,Stefano Greggi,Roberto Angioli,Natalina Manci,Giovanni Scambia,Tiziana Dell'Anna,Roldano Fossati,Irene Floriani,Rita Rossi,Roberto Grassi,Giuseppe Favalli,Francesco Raspagliesi,Diana Giannarelli,Luca Martella,Costantino Mangioni +22 more
TL;DR: Systematic lymphadenectomy improves progression-free but not overall survival in women with optimally debulked advanced ovarian carcinoma, and the percentage of patients requiring blood transfusions was higher in the systematic lymphenectomy arm than in the no-lymphadenectomy arm.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of oestrogen and progesterone receptors in low-grade endometrial stromal sarcomas
TL;DR: ER and PR expression in LGSS is heterogeneous and may have implications for hormone therapy in the management of these tumours, suggesting that ER and PR should be routinely quantified inLGSSs by immunohistochemical methods.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality of life and sexual functioning after cervical cancer treatment: a long‐term follow‐up study
TL;DR: The purpose of the study was to investigate the long‐term treatment side effects on the quality of life (QoL) and sexual functioning of cervical cancer survivors undergoing different treatment regimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pelvic Lymphadenectomy in the Surgical Treatment of Endometrial Cancer
TL;DR: The need for complete, systematic LA and the need for thorough histologic processing with step-serial sections for correct staging of patients with endometrial cancer are underlines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical properties of the human uterine cervix: an in vivo study.
Edoardo Mazza,Alessandro Nava,Margit Bauer,Raimund Winter,Michael Bajka,Gerhard Holzapfel,Gerhard Holzapfel +6 more
TL;DR: A comparison of in vivo and ex vivo data from the same organ has shown that the ex vivo mechanical response of the uterine cervix tissue does not differ considerably from that observed in vivo, and some differences can be identified in tissue pre-conditioning.
