Journal ArticleDOI
A review on the mechanical and electrical properties of graphite and modified graphite reinforced polymer composites
TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on graphite and describe its various modifications for use as modified fillers in polymer matrices for creating polymer-carbon nanocomposites, which is the basic building block of graphite.
Journal ArticleDOI
A short review on rubber/clay nanocomposites with emphasis on mechanical properties
Rajatendu Sengupta,Sugata Chakraborty,Sri Bandyopadhyay,S. Dasgupta,Rabindra Mukhopadhyay,K. Auddy,A. S. Deuri +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the preparation of rubber/clay nanocomposites by solution blending, latex compounding, and melt intercalation are covered and a thorough discussion of the mechanical properties of the various rubber and clay nanocompositionite systems is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modifications of carbon for polymer composites and nanocomposites
TL;DR: A detailed literature survey on the various modifications of the carbon nanostructures for nanocomposite preparation focusing upon the works published in the last decade is presented in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Polyamide-6,6/in situ silica hybrid nanocomposites by sol–gel technique: synthesis, characterization and properties
TL;DR: In this article, the organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposites comprising poly(iminohexamethyleneiminoadipoyl), better known as Polyamide-6,6 (abbreviated henceforth as PA66), and silica (SiO2) were synthesized through sol-gel technique at ambient temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermogravimetric studies on Polyamide-6,6 modified by electron beam irradiation and by nanofillers
TL;DR: The results of thermogravimetric studies on polyamide-6,6 (abbreviated henceforth as PA66) specimens which were modified by electron beam radiation in air, organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposite films of PA66/silica prepared by the sol-gel technique and unmodified multi-walled carbon nanotube reinforced PA66 films were reported in this article.
