Journal ArticleDOI

Impact of hybrid system in polyester production

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the evaluation of energy efficiency improvement using combination of natural gas, solar energy and flue gases heat recovery in polyester production, where the analyzed energy sources are used for dry saturated steam generation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Specific wind energy as a function of mean speed

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the Rayleigh distribution and real variable efficiency depending on the mean wind speed in comparison with Betz limits and 100% efficiency, and concluded that the results are about four times higher with the Betz efficiency and seven times higher than with 100% energy efficiency by selected wind speed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat recovery in thermoplastics production

TL;DR: In this paper, an energy optimization of production of a thermoplastic material, polyamid-6, using boiler flue gases heat recovery is presented, and energy and environmental studies show an increase of process efficiency simultaneously with a decrease of thermal pollution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Application of solar energy in drying processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the study of three basic types of fossil fueled drying processes in comparison with the same processes using solar energy input based on solar data in Croatia were presented. And they showed that using fossil fuel energy, savings could be approx. 27-29%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advanced polymerization process with cogeneration and heat recovery

TL;DR: In this article, a calculation methodology for evaluating the primary energy consumption for both options i.e. CHP and separate production of heat and power is presented. And the obtained results show savings in range of 5-7.3% for conventional and 16-24% for CHP scheme.
