Journal ArticleDOI
Altered gut microbiome in a mouse model of Gulf War Illness causes neuroinflammation and intestinal injury via leaky gut and TLR4 activation.
Firas Alhasson,Suvarthi Das,Ratanesh Seth,Diptadip Dattaroy,Varun Chandrashekaran,Caitlin Ryan,Luisa S Chan,Traci L. Testerman,James B. Burch,Lorne J. Hofseth,Ronnie D. Horner,Mitzi Nagarkatti,Prakash S. Nagarkatti,Stephen M. Lasley,Saurabh Chatterjee +14 more
TL;DR: It is shown that chemical exposure caused significant dysbiosis in the gut that included increased abundance of phylum Firmicutes and Tenericutes, and decreased abundance of Bacteroidetes and several gram negative bacterial genera were enriched in the GWI-model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Micro-RNA 21 inhibition of SMAD7 enhances fibrogenesis via leptin-mediated NADPH oxidase in experimental and human nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.
Diptadip Dattaroy,Sahar Pourhoseini,Suvarthi Das,Firas Alhasson,Ratanesh Seth,Mitzi Nagarkatti,Gregory A. Michelotti,Anna Mae Diehl,Saurabh Chatterjee +8 more
TL;DR: The studies show the novel role of leptin-NADPH oxidase induction of miR21 as a key regulator of TGF-β signaling and fibrogenesis in experimental and human NASH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of highly substituted 2-perfluoroalkyl quinolines by electrophilic iodocyclization of perfluoroalkyl propargyl imines/amines.
Pravin R. Likhar,M. S. Subhas,Sarabindu Roy,Mannepalli Lakshmi Kantam,Balasubramanian Sridhar,Ratanesh Seth,Sukla Biswas +6 more
TL;DR: The scope of this methodology is extended by using the resulting 2-perfluoroalkyl-3-iodo quinolines in Suzuki, annulation, dehalogenation and carboxylation reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resveratrol Attenuates Allergic Asthma and Associated Inflammation in the Lungs Through Regulation of miRNA-34a That Targets FoxP3 in Mice
Esraah Alharris,Hasan Alghetaa,Ratanesh Seth,Saurabh Chatterjee,Narendra P. Singh,Mitzi Nagarkatti,Prakash S. Nagarkatti +6 more
TL;DR: The current study suggests that resveratrol attenuates allergic asthma by downregulating miR-34a that induces increased expression of FOXP3, a master regulator of Treg development and functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Environmental Toxin–Linked Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis and Hepatic Metabolic Reprogramming in Obese Mice
Ratanesh Seth,Ashutosh Kumar,Suvarthi Das,Maria B. Kadiiska,Gregory A. Michelotti,Anna Mae Diehl,Saurabh Chatterjee +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that higher levels of leptin induction by BDCM in the liver contribute to the development of NASH and metabolic alterations in obesity, and the regulation of obesity-linked susceptibility to NASH by environmental factors, CYP2E1, and leptin.
