Journal ArticleDOI

Factors affecting spore production, germination and viability of Colletotrichum acutatum isolates from Hevea brasiliensis

TL;DR: It is concluded that the most favourable conditions for the spread of C. acutatum are prevalent in the major rubber growing areas in Sri Lanka throughout the monsoons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a formulation of Trichoderma asperellum to control black rot disease on pineapple caused by (Thielaviopsis paradoxa)

TL;DR: In the soil fungicide-screening test, the effect of concentrations 100–1600 μg/mL on mycelia growth was not significant and differences in pH, total soluble solids and titratable acidity were observed between fruits treated with formulation of T. asperellum and the control formulation treated pineapples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial constituents of Hypocrea virens, an endophyte of the mangrove-associate plant Premna serratifolia L.

TL;DR: This is the first study to report the isolation of endophytic fungi from P. serratifolia and their antimicrobial activities and the chemical structures of the two compounds were determined by spectroscopy and confirmed by comparison of mass and nuclear magnetic resonance spectral data with the reported values.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial activities of mycoleptodiscin B isolated from endophytic fungus Mycoleptodiscus sp. of Calamus thwaitesii Becc.

TL;DR: This is the first study to report the isolation, identification and antimicrobial properties of endophytic fungi of C. thwaitesii and the antimicrobial activities of the alkaloid mycoleptodiscin B.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant potential, in vitro cytotoxicity and apoptotic effect induced by crude organic extract of Anthracophyllum lateritium against RD sarcoma cells

TL;DR: The crude extract of the A. lateritium exhibited potent antioxidant, antiproliferative activity and apoptotic effect against RD cells providing supportive evidence for the ethnopharmacological use of this fungus in control of oxidative damage and remedy of cancer.
