Journal ArticleDOI
Performance enhancements of conventional solar still using reflective aluminium foil sheet and reflective glass mirrors: energy and exergy analysis
Vanitha Selvaraj Chandrika,Mohammed El Hadi Attia,Athikesavan Muthu Manokar,Fausto Pedro García Márquez,Zied Driss,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, reflective mirrors and reflective aluminium foil sheet were fixed on inner surfaces of the single-slope solar distiller, leading to more water production. But they did not consider the effect of solar radiation falling inside the basin.
Journal ArticleDOI
An artificial neural network based approach for prediction the thermal conductivity of nanofluids
Ammar H. Elsheikh,Ammar H. Elsheikh,Swellam W. Sharshir,A. S. Ismail,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy,Talaat Abdelhamid,Elbager M.A. Edreis,Abd Elnaby Kabeel,Zhang Haiou +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a novel approach is proposed to predict the thermal conductivity of nanofluids under multiple operating parameters using the Kohonen self-organizing maps (SOM) as an unsupervised artificial neural network (ANN).
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance assessment of free standing and building integrated grid connected photovoltaic system for southern part of India
V. S. Chandrika,M. Mohamed Thalib,Alagar Karthick,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy,A. Muthu Manokar,Umashankar Subramaniam,B. Stalin +6 more
TL;DR: This study will assist architects and wider community to design buildings roofs with GPV system which are more aesthetic and account for noise protection and thermal insulation in the region of equatorial climate zones.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of mass flow rate on fresh water improvement from inclined PV panel basin solar still
A. Muthu Manokar,Abd Elnaby Kabeel,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy,D. Mageshbabu,B. Madhu,P. Anand,Parandhaman Balakrishnan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of rate of flow by water (mf) over an inclined PV panel basin solar still (IPVPBSS) for improving the distilled water production was analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exploring the potential of MXene-based advanced solar-absorber in improving the performance and efficiency of a solar-desalination unit for brackish water purification
Amrit Kumar Thakur,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy,Rahman Saidur,Ramalingam Velraj,Iseult Lynch,N. Aslfattahi +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a multilayered 2-D MXene from 3-D MAX phase was synthesized as a coating material for the solar absorber of a solar still to improve its performance.
