Journal ArticleDOI

Monte Carlo algorithms for evaluating Sobol' sensitivity indices

TL;DR: In this work a simple adaptive Monte Carlo technique for evaluating Sobol' sensitivity indices is developed and a comparison of accuracy and complexity of plain Monte Carlo and adaptive Monte Monte Carlo algorithms is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Docosahexaenoic acid promotes micron scale liquid-ordered domains. A comparison study of docosahexaenoic versus oleic acid containing phosphatidylcholine in raft-like mixtures.

TL;DR: Fluorescence microscopy of giant vesicles could show that the temperature of the micron-scale Lo/Ld miscibility is higher for PDPC than for POPC ternary mixtures, and the higher line tension of the Lo domains observed in PDPC mixtures is assumed to result from the higher difference in Lo/ Ld order parameter rather than hydrophobic mismatch.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advanced algorithms for multidimensional sensitivity studies of large-scale air pollution models based on Sobol sequences

TL;DR: The algorithms considered in this work are applied to sensitivity studies of air pollution levels calculated by the Unified Danish Eulerian Model (UNI-DEM) to some chemical reaction rates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Superficial implantation in pigs is associated with decreased numbers and redistribution of endometrial NK-cell populations.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated implantation-associated quantitative changes in endometrial and peripheral natural killer (NK)-cell populations of pigs and found that implantation is associated with decreased numbers of endometrium NK-cell populations and specific spatiotemporal profile of classical NK cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studying the sensitivity of pollutants' concentrations caused by variations of chemical rates

TL;DR: The Unified Danish Eulerian Model is in the focus of this investigation as one of the most advanced large-scale mathematical models that describes adequately all physical and chemical processes.
