Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel electrochemical method of preparing long-lived silver nanoparticles suspended in aqueous solution as well as silver powders was proposed, which does not involve the use of any chemical stabilizing agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigations of the toxic effect of silver nanoparticles on mammalian cell lines
Franziska Sambale,Stefanie Wagner,Frank Stahl,Renat R. Khaydarov,Thomas Scheper,Detlef W. Bahnemann +5 more
TL;DR: The viability of the cells cultivated with different concentrations of silver was determined by the MTT assay, a photometric method to determine cell metabolism, and an Ag+ salt (AgNO3) has been examined at the same concentration of Ag+ present in the silver nanoparticle suspension that is assuming that the Ag particles are completely available as Ag+ ions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Colorimetric Detection of Mercury(II) Ion in Aqueous Solution Using Silver Nanoparticles
M. Lutfi Firdaus,Ikka Fitriani,Santhy Wyantuti,Yeni Wahyuni Hartati,Renat R. Khaydarov,Jason A. McAlister,Hajime Obata,Toshitaka Gamo +7 more
TL;DR: The proposed novel green-chemistry synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is introduced as a low-cost, rapid and easy-to-use analytical method for mercury ion detection with precision better than 5%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Smartphone Coupled with a Paper-Based Colorimetric Device for Sensitive and Portable Mercury Ion Sensing
M. Lutfi Firdaus,Angga Aprian,Nessi Meileza,Marti Hitsmi,Rina Elvia,Lena Rahmidar,Renat R. Khaydarov +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a low-cost, simple and portable analytical method for mercury ion quantification based on digital image colorimetry coupled with a smartphone application was reported, where a small amount of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was used as a colorimetric agent that is selective only to mercury ions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water purification from metal ions using carbon nanoparticle-conjugated polymer nanocomposites
TL;DR: Lifetime of NCPC before coagulation in the treated water is 1s-1000min and depends on the ratio of polymeric molecules and carbon nanoparticle concentrations, and ability of removing metal ions from water by NCPC against pH have been studied.
