Advances in Dense Gas Dispersion Modeling of Accidental Releases over Rough Surfaces during Stable Conditions
G. Briggs,Rex Britter,S. R. Hanna,Jerry Havens,S. B. King,Alan Robins,William H. Snyder,K. W. Steinberg +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a cooperative research project was proposed from which an improved understanding will be gained about the dispersion of accidental, dense gas releases at industrial sites (i.e., high surface roughness) during low-wind stable meteorological conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Simple Model for the Movement of Fire Smoke in a Confined Tunnel
Marina Neophytou,Rex Britter +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a generic model describing a semi-enclosed buoyancy-driven flow can be interpreted and used in the modelling of fire smoke movement in a confined tunnel, and a lower bound estimate of the smoke residence time can be obtained based on smoke concentration predictions from the model.
