Journal ArticleDOI

Defective DNA repair in Fanconi's anaemia.

TL;DR: An increased susceptibility of lymphocytes from patients with FA to chromosome breakage by DNA cross linking agents is demonstrated, interpreted as an indication that FA cells are defective in some DNA repair mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Susceptibility of chromosomes from patients with Down's syndrome to 7,12‐dimethylbenz(a) anthracene‐induced aberrations in vitro

TL;DR: The susceptibility of chromosomes from seven patients with Down's syndrome to damage in vitro by 7,12‐dimethylbenz (a)anthracene (DMBA) was significantly greater than that of the chromosomes from ten healthy donors.
Journal Article

Characterization of responding cells in oxidative mitogen stimulation. II. Identification of an Ia-bearing adherent accessory cell.

TL;DR: In this article, the mitogen response to lymph node cells depeleted of adherent cells by passage over nylon wool and Sephadex columns was similar to restoration of Ia- depleted lymphocyte populations.
Journal Article

Periodate-induced lymphocyte transformation. IV. Mitogenic effect of NaIO4 treated lymphocytes upon autologous lymphocytes.

TL;DR: If lymphocytes are inactivated with mitomycin C, 60Co irradiation, or ultraviolet (UV) irradiated, and treated with sodium periodate (NaIO4), they are capable of inducing transformation of autologous lymphocytes in vitro.
