Journal ArticleDOI

Stability and kinetics of G-quadruplex structures

TL;DR: An overview of recent literature on the structure and stability of unimolecular G-rich quadruplex structures that are relevant to drug design and for in vivo function and the unifying theme in this review is energetics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetics and mechanism of K+- and Na+-induced folding of models of human telomeric DNA into G-quadruplex structures

TL;DR: The results suggest that folding of G-rich oligonucleotides into quadruplex structures proceeds via kinetically significant intermediates, which may consist of antiparallel hairpins in rapid equilibrium with less ordered structures.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sputum Proteomics in Inflammatory and Suppurative Respiratory Diseases

TL;DR: Proteomic screening of sputum yields potential biomarkers of inflammation that differentiated each of the disease groups from healthy control subjects, and the early development of a clinically relevant assay from such data is demonstrated.
Journal Article

Inhibition of purified collagenase from alkali-burned rabbit corneas.

TL;DR: Sodium ascorbate did not inhibit collagenase-mediated hydrolysis of either collagen or the synthetic substrate, thus indicating that the mechanism by which this agent inhibits corneal ulceration is not related to inhibition of collagen degradation by collagenase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Folding and unfolding pathways of the human telomeric G-quadruplex.

TL;DR: A slow, rate-limiting step is revealed along the unfolding pathway of unimolecular quadruplex formation in sequence analogs of human telomeric DNA.
