TL;DR: In this paper, a cohort of 221 children with high-risk B-cell-progenitor ALL with the use of single-nucleotide-polymorphism microarrays, transcriptional profiling, and resequencing of samples obtained at diagnosis were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
JAK mutations in high-risk childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Charles G. Mullighan,Jinghui Zhang,Richard C. Harvey,J. Racquel Collins-Underwood,Brenda A. Schulman,Letha A. Phillips,Sarah K. Tasian,Mignon L. Loh,Xiaoping Su,Wei Liu,Meenakshi Devidas,Susan R. Atlas,I-Ming Chen,Robert J. Clifford,Daniela S. Gerhard,William L. Carroll,Gregory H. Reaman,Malcolm A. Smith,James R. Downing,Stephen P. Hunger,Cheryl L. Willman +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported activating mutations in the Janus kinases JAK1, JAK2, and JAK3 in 20 (10.7%) of 187 BCR-ABL1-negative, high-risk pediatric ALL cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-throughput development and characterization of a genomewide collection of gene-based single nucleotide polymorphism markers by chip-based matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry.
Kenneth H. Buetow,Michael N. Edmonson,Richard Macdonald,Robert J. Clifford,Ping Yip,Jenny M. Kelley,Daniel P. Little,Robert L. Strausberg,Hubert Koester,Charles R. Cantor,Andreas Braun +10 more
TL;DR: This system couples informatics tools that mine candidate SNPs from public expressed sequence tag resources and automatically designs assay reagents with detection by a chip-based matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry platform to provide preliminary insights into patterns of polymorphism in a genomewide collection of gene-based polymorphisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
MR imaging predictors of molecular profile and survival: Multi-institutional study of the TCGA glioblastoma data set
David A. Gutman,Lee Cooper,Scott N. Hwang,Chad A. Holder,Jing Jing Gao,Tarun D. Aurora,William D. Dunn,Lisa Scarpace,Tom Mikkelsen,Rajan Jain,Max Wintermark,Manal Jilwan,Prashant Raghavan,Erich Huang,Robert J. Clifford,Pattanasak Mongkolwat,Vladimir Kleper,John Freymann,Justin Kirby,Pascal O. Zinn,Pascal O. Zinn,Carlos S. Moreno,Carl Jaffe,Rivkah Colen,Daniel L. Rubin,Joel H. Saltz,Adam E. Flanders,Daniel J. Brat +27 more
TL;DR: This analysis demonstrates a method for consistent image feature annotation capable of reproducibly characterizing brain tumors and shows that radiologists' estimations of macroscopic imaging features can be combined with genetic alterations and gene expression subtypes to provide deeper insight to the underlying biologic properties of GBM subsets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Escherichia coli Harboring mcr-1 and blaCTX-M on a Novel IncF Plasmid: First Report of mcr-1 in the United States.
Patrick McGann,Erik Snesrud,Rosslyn Maybank,Brendan W. Corey,Ana C. Ong,Robert J. Clifford,Mary Hinkle,Timothy J. Whitman,Emil Lesho,Kurt E. Schaecher +9 more
TL;DR: The recent discovery of a plasmid-borne colistin resistance gene, mcr-1, in China heralds the emergence of truly pan-drug-resistant bacteria.
