Journal ArticleDOI
A prospective analysis of 1,930 patients with hematuria to evaluate current diagnostic practice.
TL;DR: It is suggested that cystoscopy cannot be safely avoided even in younger patients with microscopic hematuria and only a combination of ultrasound and IVP detected all upper tract tumors.
Reference EntryDOI
Urethral injection therapy for urinary incontinence in women
TL;DR: The available evidence base remains insufficient to guide practice and the finding that placebo saline injection was followed by a similar symptomatic improvement to bulking agent injection raises questions about the mechanism of any beneficial effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Florian M.E. Wagenlehner,Edgar van Oostrum,Peter Tenke,Zafer Tandogdu,Mete Cek,Magnus Grabe,Björn Wullt,Robert Pickard,Kurt G. Naber,Adrian Pilatz,Wolfgang Weidner,Truls E. Bjerklund-Johansen +11 more
TL;DR: Infective complications after transrectal P-Bx are important because of the associated patient morbidity, and the study confirms a high incidence of fluoroquinolone resistance in causative bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Malcolm G Lucas,Ruud Bosch,Fiona C. Burkhard,Francisco Cruz,Thomas B. Madden,Arjun Nambiar,Andreas Neisius,Dirk De Ridder,Andrea Tubaro,William H. Turner,Robert Pickard +10 more
TL;DR: These new guidelines on the surgical treatment of patients with urinary incontinence present an up-to-date summary of the available evidence, together with clear clinical algorithms and action-based recommendations based on the best available evidence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic review and economic modelling of effectiveness and cost utility of surgical treatments for men with benign prostatic enlargement
Tania Lourenco,Natalie Armstrong,James Michael Olu N'Dow,Ghulam Nabi,Mark Deverill,Robert Pickard,Luke Vale,Graeme MacLennan,Cynthia Fraser,Samuel McClinton,S Wong,A Coutts,Graham Mowatt,Adrian Grant +13 more
TL;DR: HoLEP is unique amongst the newer technologies in offering an advantage in urodynamic outcomes over TURP, although long-term follow-up data are lacking, and the standard--TURP remains both clinically effective and cost-effective.
