Zn doping of YBa2Cu3O7 in melt textured materials: peak effect and high trapped fields

TL;DR: In this article, a modified melt crystallization process (MMCP) was applied to prepare single grain YBCO bulk material with Zn partially substituting for Cu. Hole doping was controlled by an appropriate oxidizing treatment of the as-grown bulk.
Journal ArticleDOI

LSDA + U versus LSDA: Towards a better description of the magnetic nearest-neighbor exchange coupling in Co- and Mn-doped ZnO

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic interactions between two nearest-neighbor substitutional magnetic ions (Co or Mn) were calculated by means of density functional theory and compared with the available experimental data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetic State around Cation Vacancies in II–VI Semiconductors

TL;DR: It is shown that a single Zn vacancy in ZnO yields a total spin ST=1 in agreement with experiments, but for the other less ionic Zn-based II-VI semiconductors ZnA this spin triplet state is nearly degenerate with a nonmagnetic spin singlet state.
