Longitudinal assessment of chemotherapy-induced structural changes in cerebral white matter and its correlation with impaired cognitive functioning in breast cancer patients
Sabine Deprez,Frédéric Amant,Judith Verhoeven,Ann Smeets,Rose Christiaens,Alexander Leemans,Ronald Peeters,Wim Van Hecke,Mathieu Vandenbulcke,Stefan Sunaert +9 more
TL;DR: Evidence of longitudinal changes in cognitive functioning and cerebral WM integrity after chemotherapy as well as an association between both are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Construction and testing of a microsatellite database containing more than 500 tomato varieties
G.M.M. Bredemeijer,R. J. Cooke,Martin W. Ganal,Ronald Peeters,P. Isaac,Y. Noordijk,S. Rendell,J. Jackson,Marion S. Röder,K. Wendehake,M. Dijcks,M. Amelaine,V. Wickaert,L. Bertrand,Ben Vosman +14 more
TL;DR: It could be demonstrated that the STMS markers and database were suitable for use in network activities where a common database is being established on a continuing basis with data from different laboratories and microsatellite polymorphism in tomato was found to be relatively low.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Impact of Timing on Bidding Behavior in Procurement Auctions of Contracts with Private Costs
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of bidding behavior between multi-round and single-round auctions considering bid lettings for asphalt construction contracts that are known to have primarily private costs is provided. And the authors explore potential causes for the bidding difference across formats that are related to synergies and the level of bidder participation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Similarity of fMRI activity patterns in left perirhinal cortex reflects semantic similarity between words
TL;DR: An event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) experiment was determined how cosine similarity between fMRI response patterns to concrete words and pictures reflects semantic clustering and semantic distances between the represented entities within a single category.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early goal-directed haemodynamic optimization of cerebral oxygenation in comatose survivors after cardiac arrest: the Neuroprotect post-cardiac arrest trial.
Koen Ameloot,Cathy De Deyne,Ward Eertmans,Bert Ferdinande,Matthias Dupont,Pieter-Jan Palmers,Tibaut Petit,Philippe Nuyens,Joren Maeremans,Joris Vundelinckx,Maarten Vanhaverbeke,Ann Belmans,Ronald Peeters,Philippe Demaerel,Robin Lemmens,Jo Dens,Stefan Janssens +16 more
TL;DR: Targeting a higher MAP in post-CA patients was safe and improved cerebral oxygenation but did not improve the extent of anoxic brain damage or neurological outcome.
