Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and simultaneous quantification of five alkaloids in Piper longum L. by HPLC–ESI-MSn and UFLC–ESI-MS/MS and their application to Piper nigrum L.

TL;DR: A simple, effective and suitable UFLC-ESI-MS/MS method was firstly developed to simultaneously determine five characteristic constituents of Piper longum L. longum, which had lower piperine content but was enriched in the other four alkaloids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous UFLC–ESI–MS/MS determination of piperine and piperlonguminine in rat plasma after oral administration of alkaloids from Piper longum L.: Application to pharmacokinetic studies in rats

TL;DR: The UFLC-ESI-MS/MS method was successfully applied to pharmacokinetic studies of piperine and piperlonguminine in rats after oral administration of alkaloids from P. longum L. showed protective effects on Parkinson's disease models in the authors' previous study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neuroprotective effects of alkaloids from Piper longum in a MPTP-induced mouse model of Parkinson’s disease

TL;DR: The results indicate that PLA possesses neuroprotective effects and has ameliorative properties in dopaminergic neurons in Parkinson’s disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tissue distribution profiles of three antiparkinsonian alkaloids from Piper longum L. in rats determined by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that PPR, PPL and DPPL may play roles in improving motor dysfunction and dopamine depletion in a rat model of Parkinson's disease and can cross the blood-brain barrier.

Dihydroflavone compound as well as preparation method and application for same

TL;DR: In this paper, a dihydroflavone compound as well as a preparation method and application for the same was revealed. But the method comprises the following steps of: performing separation and identification for the chemical ingredients of a penthorum chinense thick paste by macroporous resin column chromatography, silica gel column chromalysis and gel column graph chromatography; and identifying the structure of the compound via the physicochemical properties, light spectrum, mass spectrum and nuclear magnetic data of the compounds.
