A moderate dosage of coffee causes acute retinal capillary perfusion decrease in healthy young individuals

TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated whether moderate consumption of coffee alters macular retinal capillary perfusion in young healthy individuals, and they found that moderate coffee intake caused a significant increase in retina-choroid blood flow.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Prediction of least-scattered photons traversing turbid medium: a vertex/propagator model

TL;DR: In this paper, a vertex/propagator approach was proposed to find the probabilities for least scattered photons traversing a scattering medium, based on analytical expressions for photon histories, and the results were discussed and found to be in very good agreement with those from the Monte-Carlo simulations.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

In vivo functional imaging of embryonic chick heart using ultrafast 1310nm-band spectral domain optical coherence tomography

TL;DR: Employing an ultrafast 1310nm-band dual-camera spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT), the radial strain rate of the myocardial wall can be extracted with high signal-to-noise ratio, at the same time the Doppler velocity of the blood flow can also be displayed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Special issue in honour of Professor Valery V Tuchin's contribution to the field of biomedical optics

TL;DR: Tuchin's contributions to the field of biomedical optics are diverse and cover areas such as fundamental aspects of tissue optics, laser spectroscopy and clinical applications of light waves as mentioned in this paper.
