Preparation and characterization of activated carbons from tobacco stem by chemical activation

TL;DR: This study provides an effective utilization available for tobacco stem, the residue from cigarette manufacturing, by using it as the starting material in the preparation of activated carbon with chemical activation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heteroatom-doped nanoporous carbon derived from MOF-5 for CO2 capture

TL;DR: In this paper, four nanoporous carbons (MUCT) were prepared from metal-organic framework (MOF-5) template and additional carbon source (i.e., urea) by carbonization at different temperatures (600 −900 ǫ).
Journal ArticleDOI

Porous carbon materials based on biomass for acetone adsorption: Effect of surface chemistry and porous structure

TL;DR: In this paper, the relative influence of porous structure and functional groups of porous carbon materials for acetone adsorption is presented, and the results suggest that these functional groups are primarily responsible for the materials' low-pressure adaption capacity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of nitrogen-rich nanoporous carbon materials with C3N-type from ZIF-8 for methanol adsorption

TL;DR: In this paper, the physicochemical properties of porous carbon were investigated for methanol adsorption at high and low relative pressures, respectively, and it was shown that the dispersive interaction becomes dominant at high relative pressures.
