Techniques for reducing switching noise in high speed digital systems
TL;DR: Simultaneous switching noise caused by parasitic inductance in the power supply distribution network is a severe problem in high speed digital circuits and systems and technical solutions for reducing SSN in the light of current developments of advanced packaging and assembly technologies are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Packaging impact on switching noise in high-speed digital systems
TL;DR: In this article, the authors quantitatively showed that the influence of SSN, which is negligible when the rise/fall time is long (> 5 ns), becomes a critical factor, limiting system performance in the sub-nanosecond rise time region.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the digital filter section of the FERMI readout microsystem, consisting of two separate filter blocks, extracts the pulse amplitude and time information for the first-level trigger process and performs a highly accurate energy measurement for higher-level triggering and data readout purposes.
