TL;DR: Although there was no acute disease, antibodies detected against L. hardjo and B. abortus in the cattle population indicated the presence of chronic and subclinical infection, which could challenge the fertility of the animals.

Socio-economic status and system of farming practices with Diara buffaloes in the middle gangetic plains of Bihar, India

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the socio-economic status of farmers rearing Diara buffaloes in Patna district of Bihar, India and found that the average age at first calving of Diara cows was 46.4±2.56 months whereas the mean service period and dry period of these cows in the breeding tract were 88.1±5.25 and 127.18±4.56 days, respectively.

Production and reproduction performances of Diara buffaloes in the Gangetic basin of Bihar

TL;DR: Morphometric and body weight traits studied in the present investigation indicate that Diara buffaloes are medium-sized animals with prominent forehead and loosely curved horns that are smaller than the heavy-sized breeds like Murrah, Jaffarabadi and Nili-Ravi.
