The article deals with the possibility of the implementation of artificial intelligence, which will improve the efficiency of national economy, including the energy industry. The paper presents the principles of using neural networks and elements of artificial intelligence in the processes of production, transmission and consumption of electricity. It has been revealed that the use of artificial intelligence in the electric power industry will make it possible to minimize disruptions in power supply.

Implementation of artificial intelligence in the electric power industry

Biofuel, a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally benign fuel produced from renewable sources, has been accepted as a sustainable replacement and a panacea for the damaging effects of the exploration for and consumption of fossil-based fuels. The current work examines the classification, generation, and utilization of biofuels, particularly in internal combustion engine (ICE) applications. Biofuels are classified according to their physical state, technology maturity, the generation of feedstock, and the generation of products. The methods of production and the advantages of the application of biogas, bioalcohol, and hydrogen in spark ignition engines, as well as biodiesel, Fischer–Tropsch fuel, and dimethyl ether in compression ignition engines, in terms of engine performance and emission are highlighted. The generation of biofuels from waste helps in waste minimization, proper waste disposal, and sanitation. The utilization of biofuels in ICEs improves engine performance and mitigates the emission of poisonous gases. There is a need for appropriate policy frameworks to promote commercial production and seamless deployment of these biofuels for transportation applications with a view to guaranteeing energy security.

An Overview of the Classification, Production and Utilization of Biofuels for Internal Combustion Engine Applications

The current state of the economy and society is influenced by the global integration processes taking place in Eurasia - the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union, which should unite the markets for resources, goods and capital of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. One of the aspects of this process is the creation of a unified electricity market, which ensures free flow of electrical energy, free pricing and competition in the power industry. The purpose of this study is to study the degree of readiness of national energy systems for integration and to identify problems that impede the formation of the Common Electricity Market of the Eurasian Economic Union. The methods used were statistical analysis tools, a graphical method, comparisons and descriptions. The study was carried out on the basis of the use of information provided in the open access of the Eurasian Economic Union, national statistical services and energy companies. The authors have identified the main goals and objectives, as well as the requirements and expected results of the creation of the Common Electricity Market. As a result of the analysis of national power systems, a number of problems were identified that impede their convergence, including inconsistencies in the scale of production, various pricing mechanisms and electricity price regulation, differences in the energy balance of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, different levels of electricity prices, and a particular opinion Of the Republic of Belarus to the concept of market formation and the lack of unified borders of Armenia with other participating countries Union. The findings of the study indicate that by the stated date, namely July 1, 2019, the Common Electricity Market will most likely not be created for the reasons stated. To solve the identified problems, the authors propose several tools, one of the most important among them is the mechanism of regulatory and legal regulation of electricity markets at the national and supranational levels. Also, according to the authors, in the integration processes in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union should consider the world experience of such political and economic associations.

Evaluation of diesel engine performance with high blended diesel-biodiesel fuel from waste cooking oil

The use of biomass based renewable fuel, n-butanol blends for compression ignition (CI) engine has attracted wide attention due to its superior properties such as better miscibility, higher energy content, and cetane number. In this present study the use of n-butanol 10% blends (Bu10) with diesel fuel has been tested using 4-cylinder, 4-stroke common rail direct injection CI engine to investigate the combustion and emissions of the blended fuels. Based on the tested engine at BMEP=3.5Bar Bu10 fuel indicates lower first and second peak pressure by 5.4% and 2.4% for engine speed 1000rpm and 4.4% and 2.1% for engine speed 2500rpm compared to diesel fuel respectively. Percentage reduction relative to diesel fuel at engine speeds 1000rpm and 2500rpm for Bu10: Exhaust temperature was 7.5% and 5.2% respectively; Nitrogen oxides (NOx) 73.4% and 11.3% respectively.

Combustion and emissions characteristics of a compression ignition engine fueled with n-butanol blends

In this decade, alternative fuels such as ethanol were extensively studied as an additive or substitute for increasing engine performance and decreasing the release of harmful gases into the environment. The objective of the study is to assess engine performance and exhaust emission using Gasoline and Ethanol blends in a turbocharged spark-ignition engine. Gasoline was used as a reference fuel, and ethanol was blended into gasoline at 10%, 20% and 30% named as E10, E20, and E30, respectively. The turbocharger spark ignition (SI) engine has been coupled to eddy current 100 kW dynamometer to measure the engine efficiency. The engine test was carried out at an engine speed of 3000 rpm and 40% wide open throttle (WOT). As results, the performance parameters such as volumetric efficiency (VE), rate of heat release (ROHR), brake mean effective pressure (BMEP), brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) of the engine increased with gasoline-ethanol blends compared to gasoline. Also, the complete combustion contributed to the reduction of the hydrocarbon (HC), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. From the study, it can be concluded that ethanol is highly suited for turbocharged SI engines to reduce emissions and increase performance.

Performance and emission of turbocharger engine using gasoline and ethanol blends

The growing energy demand and the limitation of the fossil fuels force the transportation sector to seek for alternative energy sources. Butanol has emerged as one of the potential alternative energy solution especially for spark ignition engines. Experimental study on engine combustion characteristics particularly on mass fraction burned (MFB) of spark ignition engines fueled with secondary butyl alcohol (sec-butanol) gasoline blends was carried out. Engine was operated at engine speeds 3500 RPM with 50% of wide throttle open (WTO) for each blend (5%, 10% and 15% volume of sec-butanol) and neat gasoline. The in-cylinder pressure data were collected and the average cycle was integrate to obtain MFB profiles. Based on the MFB results at using sec-butanol gasoline blends is always taken higher value of degree of crank angle compared to gasoline fuels. However, throughout the analysis, by addition of 15% of volume in gasoline fuels reduced the 10 – 90% early flame propagation, 10 – 90% combustion duration and early position of degree of crank angle at 50% of MFB for 1.7%, 4.5% and 5.9% respectively with respect ot gasoline fuels.

Experimental investigation of butanol gasoline blends effect on the mass fraction burned in a spark ignition engine

Exhaust emissions especially from light duty gasoline engine are a major contributor to air pollution due to the large number of vehicles on the road. The purpose of this study is to experimentally analyse the exhaust pollutant emissions of a four-stroke port fuel spark ignition engines operating using secondary butyl alcohol–gasoline blends by percentage volume of 5% (GBu5), 10% (GBu10) and 15% (GBu15) of secondary butyl- alcohol (2-butanol) additives in gasoline fuels at 50% of wide throttle open. The exhaust emissions characteristics of the engine using blended fuels was compared to the exhaust emissions of the engine with gasoline fuels (G100) as a reference fuels. Exhaust emissions analysis results show that all of the blended fuels produced lower CO by 8.6%, 11.6% and 24.8% for GBu5, GBu10 and GBu15 respectively from 2500 to 4000 RPM, while for HC, both GBu10 and GBu15 were lower than that G100 fuels at all engine speeds. In general, when the engine was operated using blended fuels, the engine produced lower CO and HC, but higher CO2.
