Intercomparison of remote measurements of stratospheric NO and NO2
Howard K. Roscoe,B. J. Kerridge,S. Pollitt,N. Louisnard,Jean-Marie Flaud,Claude Camy-Peyret,C. Alamichel,Jean-Pierre Pommereau,T. Ogawa,N. Iwagami,M. T. Coffey,William G. Mankin,Wayne F. J. Evans,C. T. McElroy,J. Kerr +14 more
TL;DR: In the 1982 and 1983 Balloon Intercomparison Campaigns, the vertical profile of stratospheric NO2 was measured remotely by nine instruments and that of NO by two.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intercomparison of Stratospheric Water Vapor Profiles Obtained During the Balloon Intercomparison Campaign
David G. Murcray,Aaron Goldman,J. J. Kosters,Rodolphe Zander,Wayne F. J. Evans,N. Louisnard,C. Alamichel,M. Bangham,S. Pollitt,Bruno Carli,Bianca Maria Dinelli,S. Piccioli,A. Volboni,Wesley A. Traub,Kelly Chance +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared a wide range of remote sensing techniques involving both emission and absorption in the mid-infrared and emission techniques in the far infrared regions of the spectrum.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ozone measurements from the Balloon Intercomparison Campaign
D. Robbins,Joe W. Waters,P. Zimmermann,Robert Jarnot,J. Hardy,Herbert M. Pickett,S. Pollitt,W. Traub,Kelly Chance,N. Louisnard,Wayne F. J. Evans,J. Kerr +11 more
TL;DR: The results of the Balloon Intercomparison Campaign (BIC-1 and BIC-2) are reported in this article, with a few exceptions, within 95% confidence level uncertainties and generally within 15% above 20 km.
Book ChapterDOI
Intercomparison of Stratospheric Measurements of NO and NO2
H. K. Roscoe,B. J. Kerridge,S. Pollitt,M. Bangham,N. Louisnard,Onera,C. Alamichel,Jean-Pierre Pommereau,T. Ogawa,N. Iwagami,M. T. Coffey,William G. Mankin,J. M. Flaud,C. Camay-Peret,Frank J. Murcray,A. Goldman,Wayne F. J. Evans,T. McElroy +17 more
TL;DR: A major intercomparison of balloon-borne stratospheric sensors took place in fall 1982 and spring 1983 as discussed by the authors, where 4 gondolas were launched close together from Palestine, Texas.
Book ChapterDOI
Ozone Intercomparisons from the Balloon Intercomparison Campaign
TL;DR: In this paper, the results obtained on the Balloon Intercomparison Campaign of 1982 and 1983 were compared using results obtained from two in-situ and four remote instruments, including ECC ozonesondes, a UV absorption photometer, and microwave emission, IR emission and absorption spectrometers.
