Isolation of toxoplasma gondii from goats from brazil

TL;DR: Ten of the 12 isolates killed 100% of infected mice, indicating that goats can harbor mouse-virulent T. gondii and, hence, can serve as a source of infection for humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI

Interrelação entre frequência de anticorpos anti-leptospira spp. e exames histopatológicos (hematoxilina-eosina e warthin-starry) em suínos abatidos no semiárido paraibano

TL;DR: The rate of seropositivity found (14.6%) suggests the importance of awareness by producers about the implementation of preventive measures aimed at preventing, or at least reducing the spread of leptospiras in pigs and thereby blocking the possible transmission of the agent to humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flock-level risk factors associated with Neospora caninum seroprevalence in dairy goats in a semiarid region of Northeastern Brazil

TL;DR: A cross-sectional study based on a planned sampling was carried out to determine flock-level risk factors associated with Neospora caninum antibody prevalence in dairy goat flocks in a semiarid region of Northeastern Brazil, finding graze at communal pasture, not using disposable syringes and flock size >25 goats were identified as risk factors.
