Journal ArticleDOI
Candida albicans Hyphal Formation and the Expression of the Efg1-Regulated Proteinases Sap4 to Sap6 Are Required for the Invasion of Parenchymal Organs
Angelika Felk,Angelika Felk,Marianne Kretschmar,Antje Albrecht,Martin Schaller,Sabine Beinhauer,Thomas Nichterlein,Dominique Sanglard,Hans C. Korting,Wilhelm Schäfer,Bernhard Hube,Bernhard Hube +11 more
TL;DR: It can be concluded that the reduced virulence of hypha-deficient mutants is not only due to the inability to form hyphae but also due to modified expression of the SAP genes normally associated with the hyphal morphology, particularly that encoded by SAP6.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Secreted Aspartyl Proteinases Sap1 and Sap2 Cause Tissue Damage in an In Vitro Model of Vaginal Candidiasis Based on Reconstituted Human Vaginal Epithelium
Martin Schaller,Matthias Bein,Hans C. Korting,Stefan Baur,Gerald Hamm,Michel Monod,Sabine Beinhauer,Bernhard Hube +7 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided for a crucial role of Sap1 and Sap2 in C. albicans vaginal infections and for the vaginopathic potential of mutants lacking SAP3 or SAP4 to SAP6 was not reduced compared to wild-type cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathogenitätsfaktoren bei Pilzinfektionen
Bernhard Hube,Antje Albrecht,Oliver Bader,Sabine Beinhauer,Angelika Felk,Chantal Fradin,Donika Kunze,M. Niewerth +7 more
TL;DR: Pathogenitäts faktoren bei Pilz infektionen as mentioned in this paper are verantwortlich, wie the Hefe Candida albicans or the Vordringen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathogenitätsfaktoren bei Pilzinfektionen Arbeiten der Nachwuchsgruppe "Pathogenitätsfaktoren bei Pilzinfektionen" des Robert Koch-Instituts
Bernhard Hube,Antje Albrecht,Oliver Bader,Sabine Beinhauer,A. Felk,Chantal Fradin,Donika Kunze,M. Niewerth +7 more
