Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related remodelling of oesophageal epithelia by mutated cancer drivers
Akira Yokoyama,Nobuyuki Kakiuchi,Tetsuichi Yoshizato,Yasuhito Nannya,Hiromichi Suzuki,Yasuhide Takeuchi,Yusuke Shiozawa,Yusuke Sato,Kosuke Aoki,Soo Ki Kim,Yoichi Fujii,Kenichi Yoshida,Keisuke Kataoka,Masahiro Nakagawa,Yoshikage Inoue,Tomonori Hirano,Yuichi Shiraishi,Kenichi Chiba,Hiroko Tanaka,Masashi Sanada,Yoshitaka Nishikawa,Yusuke Amanuma,Shinya Ohashi,Ikuo Aoyama,Takahiro Horimatsu,Shin'ichi Miyamoto,Shigeru Tsunoda,Yoshiharu Sakai,Maiko Narahara,J.B. Brown,Yoshitaka Sato,Genta Sawada,Koshi Mimori,Sachiko Minamiguchi,Hironori Haga,Hiroshi Seno,Satoru Miyano,Hideki Makishima,Manabu Muto,Seishi Ogawa,Seishi Ogawa +40 more
TL;DR: In physiologically normal epithelia, age-related expansion of clones that carry mutations in NOTCH1 and other driver genes is accelerated by risk factors for developing oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, such as alcohol consumption or smoking.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive evaluation of graft steatosis in living donor liver transplantation.
Minoru Iwasaki,Yasutsugu Takada,Michihiro Hayashi,Sachiko Minamiguchi,Hironori Haga,Yoji Maetani,Kazuhiro Fujii,Tetsuya Kiuchi,Koichi Tanaka +8 more
TL;DR: L/S ratio calculated from preoperative CT can be a useful tool to discriminate hepatic macrovesicular steatosis as well as other parameters including body mass index (BMI) and serum liver function tests using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of recipient age on outcome of ABO-incompatible living-donor liver transplantation.
Hiroto Egawa,Fumitaka Oike,Leo Buhler,A. M. James Shapiro,Sachiko Minamiguchi,Hironori Haga,Kenji Uryuhara,Tetsuya Kiuchi,Satoshi Kaihara,Koichi Tanaka +9 more
TL;DR: ABO-incompatible liver transplantation was carried out with relative safety in infants <1 year old but was not satisfactory in children >1 year in long-term follow-up, and new strategies to prevent antibody-mediated rejection are required.
Journal ArticleDOI
Progressive graft fibrosis and donor-specific human leukocyte antigen antibodies in pediatric late liver allografts.
Aya Miyagawa-Hayashino,Atushi Yoshizawa,Yoichiro Uchida,Hiroto Egawa,Kimiko Yurugi,Satohiro Masuda,Sachiko Minamiguchi,Taira Maekawa,Shinji Uemoto,Hironori Haga +9 more
TL;DR: The high prevalence of graft fibrosis and anti–class II DSAs in late protocol biopsy samples suggests that humoral alloreactivity may contribute to the process of unexplained graft fibrot late after liver transplantation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histologic Characterization of Human Scarred Vocal Folds
Shigeru Hirano,Sachiko Minamiguchi,Masaru Yamashita,Tsunehisa Ohno,Shin-ichi Kanemaru,Morimasa Kitamura +5 more
TL;DR: There was a wide range of variation in the deposition of ECM in scarred vocal folds, and excessive and disorganized collagen deposition was observed in most cases that had undergone deep resection of the lamina propria, whereas deposition of collagen was mild and well organized after superficial resection.
