Journal ArticleDOI

Engineering a Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance Platform for Molecular Biosensing

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduced a new perspective on the development of Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) optical biosensors, and analyzed the behavior of crucial parameters, such as bulk and molecular sensitivity, which governs a LSPR sensor performance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical assessment of transition metal nitrides nanofluids for improved performance of direct absorption solar collectors

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of a direct absorption solar collector using working-fluids composed of TiN, ZrN, and HfN in an aqueous medium was evaluated using Mie theory and numerical solutions of a two-dimensional heat transfer model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermo-optical performance of iron-doped gold nanoshells-based nanofluid on direct absorption solar collectors

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical analysis is used to determine the proper fraction of Fe-doping Au NS to increase the solar energy efficiencies of plasmonic nanofluids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photodynamic inactivation assisted by localized surface plasmon resonance of silver nanoparticles: In vitro evaluation on Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans.

TL;DR: The use of AgNPs coated with pectin in riboflavin-mediated PDI of Escherichia coli and Streptococcus mutans was evaluated, and LSPR of p-AgNPs was able to enhance the rib oflavin photodynamic action on S. mutans but not on E. coli, providing insights to explore the use of the LPRS promoted by silver nanostructures to optimize antimicrobial PDI protocols.
