Journal ArticleDOI
Condition, length-weight and length-length relationships of the Asian striped catfish Mystus vittatus (Bloch, 1794) (Siluriformes: Bagridae) in the Mathabhanga River, southwestern Bangladesh
Md. Yeamin Hossain,Md. Yeamin Hossain,Zoarder Faruque Ahmed,Pedro M. Leunda,Saleha Jasmine,Javier Oscoz,Rafael Miranda,Jun Ohtomi +7 more
TL;DR: The monthly gonadosomatic index showed that the reproductive period of M. vittatus began in April, and ended in August when the highest values of the Fulton's condition factor (K) indicated their recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Length–weight and length–length relationships of some small indigenous fish species from the Mathabhanga River, southwestern Bangladesh
Md. Yeamin Hossain,Md. Yeamin Hossain,Zoarder Faruque Ahmed,Pedro M. Leunda,A. K. M. Roksanul Islam,Saleha Jasmine,Javier Oscoz,Rafael Miranda,Jun Ohtomi +8 more
TL;DR: This study presented the first reference on LWR and LLR for these species from Bangladeshi waters.
Journal ArticleDOI
Length–weight and length–length relationships of 10 small fish species from the Ganges, Bangladesh
Md. Yeamin Hossain,Md. Yeamin Hossain,Saleha Jasmine,Abu Hanif Md. Ibrahim,Zoarder Faruque Ahmed,Mohammad Mustafizur Rahman,Jun Ohtomi +6 more
TL;DR: This study presented the first reference on LWR and LLR for most of the species in Bangladesh, and indicated that the LLRs were highly correlated.
Journal ArticleDOI
A preliminary observation on water quality and plankton of an earthen fish pond in Bangladesh: recommendations for future studies.
Md. Yeamin Hossain,Saleha Jasmine,Abu Hanif Md. Ibrahim,Zoarder Faruque Ahmed,Jun Ohtomi,Bernerd Fulanda,Momtaz Begum,Abdullahil Mamun,Mohamed A. H. El-kady,Md. Abdul Wahab +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the phytoplankton groups provide the main support for earthen pond aquaculture in the pond compared to zooplankon classes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Life history traits of the Monsoon River prawn Macrobrachium malcolmsonii (Milne-Edwards, 1844) (Palaemonidae) in the Ganges (Padma) River, northwestern Bangladesh
TL;DR: This study presents the first comprehensive description of life-history traits for M. malcolmsonii from Bangladeshi waters and describes some biological parameters including sex ratio, length–frequency distributions (LFD), length–weight relationships (LWR), and relative-condition (Kn) factor of this prawn in northwestern Bangladesh.
