Journal ArticleDOI
HIV‐1 DNA Flap formation promotes uncoating of the pre‐integration complex at the nuclear pore
Nathalie J. Arhel,Sylvie Souquere-Besse,Sandie Munier,Philippe Souque,Stéphanie Guadagnini,Sandra A Rutherford,Marie-Christine Prévost,Terence D Allen,Pierre Charneau +8 more
TL;DR: It is shown that reverse transcription (RT°) occurs within an intact capsid (CA) shell, independently of the routing process towards the nuclear membrane, and that uncoating is not an immediate post‐fusion event, but rather occurs at the nuclear pore upon RT° completion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bat coronaviruses related to SARS-CoV-2 and infectious for human cells
Sarah Temmam,Khamsing Vongphayloth,Eduard Baquero,Sandie Munier,Massimiliano Bonomi,Béatrice Regnault,Bounsavane Douangboubpha,Yasaman Karami,Delphine Chrétien,Daosavanh Sanamxay,Vilakhan Xayaphet,Phetphoumin Paphaphanh,Vincent Lacoste,Somphavanh Somlor,Khaithong Lakeomany,Nothasin Phommavanh,Philippe Pérot,Océane Dehan,Faustine Amara,Flora Donati,Thomas Bigot,Michael Nilges,Félix A. Rey,S. Van Der Werf,Paul T. Brey,Marc Eloit +25 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that SARS-CoV-2-like viruses can infect human cells through the ACE2 pathway in cave bats living in the limestone karstic terrain in northern Laos, in the Indochinese peninsula.

Cluster of COVID-19 in northern France: A retrospective closed cohort study
Arnaud Fontanet,Laura Tondeur,Yoann Madec,Rebecca Grant,Camille Besombes,Nathalie Jolly,Sandrine Fernandes Pellerin,Marie-Noëlle Ungeheuer,Isabelle Cailleau,Lucie Kuhmel,Sarah Temmam,Christèle Huon,Kuang-Yu Chen,Bernadette Crescenzo,Sandie Munier,Caroline Demeret,Ludivine Grzelak,Isabelle Staropoli,Timothée Bruel,Pierre Gallian,Simon Cauchemez,Sylvie van der Werf,Olivier Schwartz,Marc Eloit,Bruno Hoen +24 more
TL;DR: The relatively low IAR observed in an area where SARS-CoV-2 actively circulated weeks before confinement measures indicates that establishing herd immunity will take time, and that lifting these measures in France will be long and complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Genetically Engineered Waterfowl Influenza Virus with a Deletion in the Stalk of the Neuraminidase Has Increased Virulence for Chickens
Sandie Munier,Thibaut Larcher,F. Cormier-Aline,Denis Soubieux,B. Su,Lydie Guigand,Béatrice Labrosse,Yan Cherel,Pascale Quéré,Daniel Marc,Nadia Naffakh +10 more
TL;DR: Overall, the data indicate that a shortened NA stalk is a strong determinant of adaptation and virulence of waterfowl influenza viruses in chickens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lentiviral Vector-Based Prime/Boost Vaccination against AIDS: Pilot Study Shows Protection against Simian Immunodeficiency Virus SIVmac251 Challenge in Macaques
Anne-Sophie Beignon,Karine Mollier,Christelle Liard,Frédéric Coutant,Sandie Munier,Julie Rivière,Philippe Souque,Pierre Charneau +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown in a first proof-of-concept pilot study that a prime/boost vaccination strategy using lentiviral vectors pseudotyped with a glycoprotein G from two non-cross-reactive vesicular stomatitis virus serotypes elicited robust and broad cellular immune responses against the vector-encoded antigen, simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) GAG, in cynomolgus macaques.
