Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary carbohydrate intake and mortality: a prospective cohort study and meta-analysis.

TL;DR: Both high and low percentages of carbohydrate diets were associated with increased mortality, with minimal risk observed at 50–55% carbohydrate intake, and it is suggested that the source of food notably modifies the association between carbohydrate intake and mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Retinal Vessel Calibers in Predicting Long-Term Cardiovascular Outcomes: The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities Study.

TL;DR: This article investigated whether retinal vessel calibers are associated with cardiovascular outcomes in long-term follow-up and provided incremental value over the 2013 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association pooled cohort equations (PCE) in predicting Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Events (ASCVE).
Journal ArticleDOI

Plant-based diets, pescatarian diets and COVID-19 severity: A population-based case-control study in six countries

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used multivariable logistic regression models to evaluate the association between self-reported diets and COVID-19 infection, severity, and duration in six countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, USA) from a web-based survey from 17 July to 25 September 2020.
