Journal ArticleDOI

Draft Genome Sequences of Six Strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Isolated from Early Mortality Syndrome/Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease Shrimp in Thailand.

TL;DR: A unique sequence encoding a type IV pilus/type IV secretion system was found in 3 AHPND strains and all of them lacked the pathogenicity island relevant to human infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of the dietary supplementation of mixed probiotic spores of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 54A, and Bacillus pumilus 47B on growth, innate immunity and stress responses of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus)

TL;DR: The study demonstrated that the probiotics survived in the intestine of striped catfish after 90 days of feeding, and found that the dietary supplementation of a mixture of B. amyloliquefaciens and B. pumilus at 5 × 108 CFU g−1 can be used to improve the health and growth rate of stripedCatfish.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification and analysis of gp116 and gp64 structural glycoproteins of yellow head nidovirus of Penaeus monodon shrimp.

TL;DR: The complete nucleotide sequence of ORF3 is reported, which encodes a polypeptide of 1666 amino acids with a calculated molecular mass of 185 713 Da (pI=6.68), which featured two significant sequence deletions near the N terminus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular serotyping, virulence gene profiling and pathogenicity of Streptococcus agalactiae isolated from tilapia farms in Thailand by multiplex PCR.

TL;DR: The epidemiology of S. agalactiae in Thailand was analysed to provide bacterial genetic information towards a future rational vaccine strategy for tilapia culture systems and multiplex PCR typing of Group B streptococcus virulence genes was developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of cDNA encoding Argonaute, a component of RNA silencing in shrimp (Penaeus monodon).

TL;DR: A cDNA clone that encodes a protein with high sequence homology to Argonaute proteins of mammals and Drosophila melanogaster is identified and Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed that the gene is highly expressed in the lymphoid organ and moderately expressed in intestine, muscle, pleopods and hemocytes.
