Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of survivin in esophageal cancer: correlation with the prognosis and response to chemotherapy.
Joji Kato,Yoshiyuki Kuwabara,Masami Mitani,Noriyuki Shinoda,Atsushi Sato,Tatsuya Toyama,Akira Mitsui,Tadashi Nishiwaki,Satoru Moriyama,Junzo Kudo,Yoshitaka Fujii +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that survivin expression may provide prognostic information in patients with esophageal cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histone deacetylase 1 mRNA expression in lung cancer
Hidefumi Sasaki,Satoru Moriyama,Yoshiaki Nakashima,Yoshihiro Kobayashi,Masanobu Kiriyama,Ichiro Fukai,Yosuke Yamakawa,Yoshitaka Fujii +7 more
TL;DR: Using the LightCycler RT-PCR assay, the HDAC1 gene expression might correlate with progression of lung cancers, however, further studies are needed to confirm the impact ofHDAC1 for the molecular target of the lung cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of the MTA1 mRNA in advanced lung cancer.
Hidefumi Sasaki,Satoru Moriyama,Yoshiaki Nakashima,Yoshihiro Kobayashi,Haruhiro Yukiue,Masahiro Kaji,Ichiro Fukai,Masanobu Kiriyama,Yosuke Yamakawa,Yoshitaka Fujii +9 more
TL;DR: The results show that the expression of the MTA1 gene is closely related to invasiveness and metastasis in NSCLC, and could thus potentially provide information on the mechanism of cancer invasion and metastases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of Periostin, homologous with an insect cell adhesion molecule, as a prognostic marker in non-small cell lung cancers.
Hidefumi Sasaki,Kin-Ming Lo,Lan Bo Chen,Daniel Auclair,Yoshiaki Nakashima,Satoru Moriyama,Ichiro Fukai,Carmen Tam,Massimo Loda,Yoshitaka Fujii +9 more
TL;DR: The use of palindromic polymerase chain reaction (PCR)‐driven cDNA differential display technique to identify and isolate a gene, designated periostin, from cancer tissues and found it to be overexpressed in several human tumors suggested that expression of periastin may be involved in the process of tumor invasion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Overexpression of GLUT1 correlates with Kras mutations in lung carcinomas.
Hidefumi Sasaki,Masayuki Shitara,Keisuke Yokota,Yu Hikosaka,Satoru Moriyama,Motoki Yano,Yoshitaka Fujii +6 more
TL;DR: GLUT-1 overexpression correlates with an aggressive phenotype of lung carcinoma, and is correlated with clinicopathological features of Japanese lung cancers.
