Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Microbiomes from Different Niches of Upper and Lower Airways in Children and Adolescents with Cystic Fibrosis
Sébastien Boutin,Simon Y. Graeber,Michael Weitnauer,Jessica Panitz,Mirjam Stahl,Diana Clausznitzer,Lars Kaderali,Gisli G. Einarsson,Michael M. Tunney,J. Stuart Elborn,Marcus A. Mall,Alexander H. Dalpke +11 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that an adult-like lower airways microbiome is established early in life and that throat swabs may be a good surrogate in clinically stable children with cystic fibrosis without chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in whom sputum sampling is often not feasible.
Book ChapterDOI
Bacterial Opportunistic Pathogens of Fish
Nicolas Derome,Jeff Gauthier,Sébastien Boutin,Sébastien Boutin,Martin S. Llewellyn,Martin S. Llewellyn +5 more
TL;DR: This chapter outlines the current understanding of major opportunist bacterial genera of special interest in aquaculture: Aeromonas, Flavobacterium, and Vibrio, and considers the importance of host/microbiota/environment interactions in opportunistic infections of teleost fish.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid development of cefiderocol resistance in carbapenem-resistant Enterobacter cloacae during therapy is associated with heterogeneous mutations in the catecholate siderophore receptor cira.
Sabrina Klein,Sébastien Boutin,Kaan Kocer,Mascha O Fiedler,Dominic Störzinger,Markus A. Weigand,Benjamin Tan,Daniel Richter,Christian Rupp,Markus Mieth,Arianeb Mehrabi,Thilo Hackert,Stefan Zimmermann,Klaus Heeg,Dennis Nurjadi +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported a case of resistance development towards cefiderocol in a patient with intra-abdominal and bloodstream infections caued by carbapenemase-producing Enterobacter cloacae within 21 days of cefiferocol therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Lumacaftor-Ivacaftor on Lung Clearance Index, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Airway Microbiome in Phe508del Homozygous Patients with Cystic Fibrosis.
Simon Y. Graeber,Sébastien Boutin,Mark O. Wielpütz,Cornelia Joachim,Dario L. Frey,Sabine Wege,Olaf Sommerburg,Hans-Ulrich Kauczor,Mirjam Stahl,Alexander H. Dalpke,Marcus A. Mall +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that lumacaftor-ivacaftors therapy results in partial rescue of CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) activity and a moderate improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Import of community-associated, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus to Europe through skin and soft-tissue infection in intercontinental travellers, 2011-2016
Dennis Nurjadi,R. Fleck,Andreas K. Lindner,J. Schäfer,Maximilian Gertler,Anne Mueller,Heimo Lagler,Heimo Lagler,P.J.J. Van Genderen,Eric Caumes,Sébastien Boutin,Esther Kuenzli,Esther Kuenzli,Joaquim Gascon,Anu Kantele,Martin P. Grobusch,Klaus Heeg,Philipp Zanger,Abraham Goorhuis,Antonia Calvo-Cano,Christoph Hatz,Andreas Neumayr,Johannes Blum,Barbara Friedrich-Jänicke,Frank P. Mockenhaupt,Michael Ramharter,Sabine Gabrysch,Mirjam Schunk,A. Perignon,Günther Slesak,August Stich +30 more
TL;DR: Clinico-epidemiological characteristics of CA-MRSA detected by the European Network for the Surveillance of imported S. aureus are described, finding that travel-associated CA- MRSA SSTI is a transmissible condition that leads to medical consultations and colonization of the infected host.
