Fine tuning of the face orientation of ZnO crystals to optimize their photocatalytic activity
Journal ArticleDOI
Mesoporous Layer-by-Layer Ordered Nanohybrids of Layered Double Hydroxide and Layered Metal Oxide: Highly Active Visible Light Photocatalysts with Improved Chemical Stability
TL;DR: The present findings clearly demonstrate that the layer-by-layer-ordered assembly between inorganic 2D nanosheets is quite effective not only in improving the photocatalytic activity of the component semiconductors but also in synthesizing novel porous LDH-based hybrid materials with improved chemical stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Visible light active platinum-ion-doped TiO2 photocatalyst.
TL;DR: Pt(ion)-TiO2 could not degrade substrates such as tetramethylammonium and trichloroethylene, which are degraded with UV-illuminated TiO2, and its characteristics and reactivities as a new visible light photocatalyst were investigated in various ways and discussed in detail.

Quantum-Dot-Sensitized Solar Cell with Unprecedentedly High Photocurrent
Jin-Wook Lee,Dae-Yong Son,Tae Kyu Ahn,Hee Won Shin,In Young Kim,Seong Ju Hwang,Min Jae Ko,Soohwan Sul,Hyouksoo Han,Nam-Gyu Park +9 more
TL;DR: Femtosecond transient study confirms that the improved JSC is due to enhanced electron injection and suppressed charge recombination, and EXAFS reveals that Pb-S bond is reinforced and structural disorder is reduced by interstitially incorporated Hg2+, which is responsible for theEnhanced electron injection, suppressed recombination and stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Remarkable capacity retention of nanostructured manganese oxide upon cycling as an electrode material for supercapacitor
Pitchai Ragupathy,Dae Hoon Park,Guy Campet,H. N. Vasan,Seong Ju Hwang,Jin-Ho Choy,N. Munichandraiah +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the capacity retention of nearly X-ray amorphous nanostructured manganese oxide (nanoMnO2) synthesized by mixing directly KMnO4 with ethylene glycol under ambient conditions for supercapacitor studies is enhanced significantly.
