Journal ArticleDOI
Plants and Leaf Characteristics Influencing the Predaceous Mite Kampimodromus aberrans (Acari: Phytoseiidae) in Habitats Surrounding Vineyards
TL;DR: It is shown that dense trichome and pollen levels are favorable to the development of K. aberrans populations and perspective is added on the influence of domatia on this important predaceous mite.
Journal ArticleDOI
Colonization of Languedoc vineyards by phytoseiid mites (Acari: Phytoseiidae): influence of wind and crop environment
TL;DR: The colonization potential (rapidity, intensity and regularity) was directly associated with the abundance of the phytoseiids and the proximity of natural vegetation and a deep, dense and tall woody area containing suitable host plants for predatory mites constituted the most stable source of phytOSEiid mites.
Journal Article
Phytoseiid mites of vineyards in France (Acari: Phytoseiidae).
Serge Kreiter,Marie-Stéphane Tixier,Philippe Auger,Nadine Muckensturm,Gilles Sentenac,Bruno Doublet,Marc Weber +6 more
TL;DR: The use of insecticides and acaricides and to a lesser extent of some fungicides such as benzimidazoles and dithiocarbamates, applied several times during the year before samplings, explains the absence of phytoseiid mites on treated grapevine crops.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential of a Brazilian population of the predatory mite Phytoseiulus longipes as a biological control agent of Tetranychus evansi (Acari: Phytoseiidae, Tetranychidae)
TL;DR: The results suggest that the Brazilian population of P. longipes has a good potential as a biological control agent of T. evansi and on T. urticae, although reproductive parameters were higher on the former prey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular approach in spider mites (Acari: Tetranychidae): preliminary data on ribosomal DNA sequences.
TL;DR: DNA sequence data were used to examine phylogenetic relationships between six species of economically important Tetranychidae mites and the resulting phylogenetic tree expressing interspecific relationships in genusTetranychus agrees with morphological data.
