Probing and Manipulating the Lateral Pressure Profile in Lipid Bilayers Using Membrane-Active Peptides—A Solid-State 19F NMR Study
Stephan L. Grage,Sergii Afonin,Marco Ieronimo,Marina Berditsch,Parvesh Wadhwani,Anne S. Ulrich +5 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the lateral pressure profile can be manipulated using the peptides residing in different regions of the bilayer, and the depth of insertion of the probe peptide changed in the presence of additional peptides and, furthermore, correlated with their location in the membrane.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards in vivo photomediated delivery of anticancer peptides: Insights from pharmacokinetic and -dynamic data.
Igor V. Komarov,Ganna Tolstanova,H.M. Kuznietsova,N.V. Dziubenko,P. I. Yanchuk,Lydia Y. Shtanova,S.P. Veselsky,Liudmyla V. Garmanchuk,N. M. Khranovska,O I Gorbach,Taisa Dovbynchuk,Petro Borysko,Oleg Babii,Tim Schober,Anne S. Ulrich,Sergii Afonin +15 more
TL;DR: In this article , an in vivo study of a photoswitchable cytotoxic peptide LMB040 has been undertaken on a chemically induced hepatocellular carcinoma model in immunocompetent rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oleg Babii,Sergii Afonin,Christian Diel,Marcel Huhn,Jennifer Dommermuth,Tim Schober,Serhii Koniev,Andrii Hrebonkin,Alexander Nesterov-Mueller,Igor V. Komarov,Anne S. Ulrich +10 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural Dissection of Epsin-1 N-Terminal Helical Peptide: The Role of Hydrophobic Residues in Modulating Membrane Curvature.
Motoki Nishimura,Yoshimasa Kawaguchi,Kakeru Kuroki,Yuna Nakagawa,Toshihiro Masuda,Takayuki Sakai,Kenichi Kawano,Hisaaki Hirose,Miki Imanishi,Tomoka Takatani-Nakase,Sergii Afonin,Anne S. Ulrich,Shiroh Futaki +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , structural features of Epsin-1 helical segment were investigated to better understand general curvature-inducing mechanisms, and to design effective tools for rationally controlling membrane curvature.
