Journal ArticleDOI
Glioblastoma Multiforme: A Review of its Epidemiology and Pathogenesis through Clinical Presentation and Treatment
Farina Hanif,Farina Hanif,Kanza Muzaffar,Kahkashan Perveen,Saima Mehmood Malhi,Shabana Usman Simjee +5 more
TL;DR: It was found that radiation and certain genetic syndromes are the only risk factors identified to date for GBM, and the pathogenesis to involve aberrations of multiple signaling pathways through multiple genetic mutations and altered gene expression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anticonvulsant, analgesic and antipyretic activities of Taxus wallichiana Zucc.
Muhammad Nisar,Inamullah Khan,Shabana Usman Simjee,Anwarul H Gilani,Obaidullah,Humera Perveen +5 more
TL;DR: The observed pharmacological activities of the methanol leaf extract provide the scientific basis for the folkloric use of the plant in treating epilepsy, pyrexia and acute pain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rutin and rutin-conjugated gold nanoparticles ameliorate collagen-induced arthritis in rats through inhibition of NF-κB and iNOS activation
Anum Gul,Bimal Kunwar,Maryam Mazhar,Shaheen Faizi,Dania Ahmed,Muhammad Raza Shah,Shabana Usman Simjee +6 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest potential clinical role of rutin and R‐AuNPs in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and attenuate inflammatory response in CIA model in rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative gait analysis as a method to assess mechanical hyperalgesia modulated by disease-modifying antirheumatoid drugs in the adjuvant-induced arthritic rat.
TL;DR: The results showed that azothioprine, chloroquine, D-penicillamine, methotrexate and sodium aurothiomalate, especially the gold salt, which influences the monocyte–macrophage system, exhibited significant reversal of gait deficits seen in the untreated or saline-treated arthritic rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
N-(2-hydroxy phenyl) acetamide inhibits inflammation-related cytokines and ROS in adjuvant-induced arthritic (AIA) rats.
TL;DR: It can be concluded that N-(2-hydroxy phenyl) acetamide possesses promising anti-arthritic property and altered oxidative stress markers in relation to its anti-inflammatory activity.
