Long-Term Wind Speed Analysis and Detection of its Trends Using Mann-Kendall Test and Linear Regression Method
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used historical daily mean wind speed data measured at 8-12m above ground level at national and international airports in Saudi Arabia over a period of 37 years was used to obtain long-term annual and monthly mean wind speeds, annual average wind speed trends, and energy yield using an efficient modern wind turbine of 2.75 MW rated power.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment and Analysis of Wind Power Resource Using Weibull Parameters
Mohamed Bassyouni,Mohamed Bassyouni,Saud A. Gutub,Umair Javaid,Muhammad Awais,Shafiqur Rehman,S. M.-S. Abdel Hamid,Mohamed Helmy Abdel-Aziz,Mohamed Helmy Abdel-Aziz,A. Abouel-Kasem,A. Abouel-Kasem,Hani Shafeek,Hani Shafeek +12 more
TL;DR: The analysis revealed that yearly values of k ranged from 1.398 to 1.763 with a mean value of 1.590 and values of scale parameter c varied from 3.146 to 4.95 as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Combined Optical, Thermal and Electrical Performance Study of a V-Trough PV System—Experimental and Analytical Investigations
TL;DR: In this article, a V-trough integrated with the PV system was employed for low concentration photovoltaic (LCPV) to achieve higher efficiency of a PV system while reducing of the cost of energy generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wind energy for rural areas of Algeria
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented long-term analysis of wind speed data in terms of annual, seasonal and diurnal variations at Tindouf, which is situated on the south west region of Algeria.
Journal ArticleDOI
A wind-solar PV hybrid power system with battery backup for water pumping in remote localities
Shafiqur Rehman,Ahmet Z. Sahin +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a wind-PV-Battery hybrid power system based on 100% renewable source is proposed to utilize and test in some of the regions on experimental bases.
