Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatoprotective effect of ethanolic extract of Curcuma longa on thioacetamide induced liver cirrhosis in rats

TL;DR: The progression of liver cirrhosis could be inhibited by the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of CLRE and the normal status of the liver could be preserved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute Toxicity and Gastroprotection Studies of a New Schiff Base Derived Copper (II) Complex against Ethanol-Induced Acute Gastric Lesions in Rats

TL;DR: The gastroprotective effect of the Copper (II) complex may possibly be due to preservation of gastric wall mucus; increase in PGE2 synthesis; GSH, SOD, and NO up-regulation of Hsp70 protein; decrease in MDA level; and down- regulation of Bax protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute Toxicity and Gastroprotective Role of M. pruriens in Ethanol-Induced Gastric Mucosal Injuries in Rats

TL;DR: The ethanolic extract of M. pruriens leaves was nontoxic and could enhance defensive mechanisms against hemorrhagic mucosal lesions in rats and showed significant antioxidant properties with increase in synthesis of PGE2, while MDA was significantly decreased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gastroprotective Effect of Ethanolic Extract of Curcuma xanthorrhiza Leaf against Ethanol-Induced Gastric Mucosal Lesions in Sprague-Dawley Rats

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the gastroprotective effect of Curcuma xanthorrhiza leaf in the rats induced gastric ulcer by ethanol and found that the leaf extract enhanced the gastric protection and sustained the integrity of gastric mucosa structure.
